Marcus Freeman getting hired at Notre Dame recently was one of the biggest splashes of

the offseason after Brian Kelly bolted for the purple and gold pastures of LSU.

Now off Freeman didn't have any head coaching experience before he was viewed as one of

the best up and coming coaches around.

He's come through pretty much.

Now this season has been somewhat of a roller coaster for Notre Dame after starting out

O&2 with a bad loss to Marshall and a mid-season loss to Lowley Stamford.

And there were some questions brought up about Marcus Freeman and the future of one of college

football's biggest brands in Notre Dame.

But after the physical beat down of Clemson last Saturday, most of those qualms have died

down.

But it got me thinking, not only does Notre Dame have a new man at the helm, it seems

they also have a new mindset.

This Notre Dame team isn't flashy.

They aren't a sexy offense with a bin but don't break defense.

They're an overtly physical, smash mouth defensive team.

Now that doesn't mean they will never be good on offense or that Tommy Reese in the

game don't want to light up the scoreboard every weekend.
