Summary

Ty Franck and Daniel Abraham (James S.A. Corey) have been hanging on their book tour and since Wes is MIA we decided to do an episode on Noir Films. The two movies the guys decided to discuss are the classic M from 1931 and the neo-noir film Dark City.

And what we are going to talk about today is Daniel has been doing a watch of, is it the top 100?

So we've been talking about noir, so we're going to talk about noir here.

And in the process of discussing how we would approach it, we thought it might be interesting to sort of frame it between M, the Fritz-Lang masterpiece from 1931, which is often described as a proto-noir,

like the first noir, or among the first noir sort of films.

And then one of my personal favorites, Dark City,

which is often described as neo-noir,

the sort of the 90s revisiting of noir, but with, you know, modern sensibilities and
