I'm Gretchen Rubin, a writer whose studies happiness, good habits in human nature.

I'm in New York City and with me is my sister, Elizabeth Kraft and Elizabeth you and I

have spent many happy hours tossing unnecessary papers together.

That's me Elizabeth Kraft, a TV writer and producer living in Los Angeles and yeah Gretchen

it weren't for you I would still have the least on my apartment that I rented in 1994.

Oh I remember that one that was a good toss.

So listen in episodes 118 and in 67 so kind of every year we're talking about design your summer

and I have a couple of ideas about what I am going to do to design my summer.

How about you?

Gretchen I'm having a tough time with this because you know my job is starting, my show

the fix got picked up on ABC and it's so huge that it just kind of blocks out everything else

and makes it hard to plan so I'm still working on this.

So your summer isn't really going to be a summer?

No although I'm happy to report I guess this is one thing I did to design my summer, a week of the summer

which I did in about 15 minutes which I planned a trip for Adam and Jack and me to go to Hawaii.

Yeah so I turned out I had a week so we're doing that but I don't know what else the summer holds

so it's ongoing but what about you?

Well I made a list of some things that I wanted to do.

One is I made a list of 10 stores like kind of crazy stores that I wanted to visit with Eliza and Eleanor
