Hey, before we get started here today, I want to thank our underwriter for this entire episode.

Our underwriter today is Netflix. And specifically, one of their wonderful films that they have

out right now called Mank. And I have to say separate from the fact that they are supporting my

podcast and supporting my voice up there on a personal note. I just want to say that Mank is one

of my favorite films of the year. And I mean at the top. It's rare that a film like this comes along.

And of course, I find this story so enthralling because it's set in 1930s in Hollywood.

And the film itself, it's like taking a look at Hollywood through an entirely different lens.

Through the eyes of at the time, a scathing social critic and a great screenwriter by the name of

Herman J. Mankowicz. And in the story that we see in Mank, he has been hired by Orson Wells

to essentially write the screenplay for Citizen Kane. And he is under a deadline. And he has to get

this done with Wells, essentially nowhere on site. It's such a great story about the story behind

Citizen Kane. This film, Mank, was directed by the great David Fincher, whom we all love.

But the film itself, this film, Mank, was written by Fincher's late father, Jack Fincher.
