| 0:00.0 | Hello, welcome back to Monocycle. A weekly podcast brought to you by Manrepeller and hosted by |
| 0:11.3 | Leandra Medine, myself, who sometimes goes by Cohen. I'm sort of pretending that there's no such |
| 0:18.3 | thing as time. I'm acting like it's just a construct and like I can do what I want and be who I want to be |
| 0:24.6 | and act the way I want to act and like I'm not ticking on anybody's clock. |
| 0:34.6 | I've been thinking a lot about the concept of Saturday. You know that feeling when you wake up on Thursday morning and you're like, just got to get through the day? And you do. You power the F through it because you kind of have to and because you know that there's an end in sight. So you power through Thursdays, right? And then Friday morning comes and you get out of bed and like you go to the bathroom and you turn around and you're like, oh my God, is that glitter on the floor? |
| 0:58.7 | And you realize that you are so effing happy that you are literally farting glitter. |
| 1:03.9 | Because the weekend is here. |
| 1:05.7 | You have like 10 hours of work to get through and then 48 hours of unadulterated U, cereal, bed, and pillow time. |
| 1:13.6 | My God, I don't know what is better than a Friday morning. |
| 1:17.6 | Because arguably the only thing better than actually being on the weekend is the anticipation |
| 1:22.6 | for the weekend when you can practically taste it. |
| 1:25.6 | So I woke up Friday morning, I went to work and I was really |
| 1:29.1 | eager for the day because I hadn't been at the office in a long time. I missed the girls that I |
| 1:33.8 | worked with. I wanted to see them, wanted to see how everything was going. But also because I knew that |
| 1:38.2 | at like four o'clock I would get to shut down and go home and hang out with my mom and spend like |
| 1:42.4 | the 35 minutes that led up to the entry of the Sabbath, |
| 1:47.0 | just, you know, talking to her, asking how her week was and really appreciating the fact that I'm like super lucky to have such a good relationship with my mom |
| 1:56.0 | and like be able to hang out with someone who I love so much on a regular basis. |
| 2:00.0 | So I can recall feeling really, really strongly on Saturday. |
| 2:04.9 | I was just, I was in a really good mood. |
| 2:06.8 | I felt really energized. |
| 2:08.2 | And I'm thinking to myself, like, how can I approximate this feeling to last? |
