What do you, okay, I have another question about really briefly, but I know it's a hard

one.

In terms of emotional labor, I think a lot of people see your work.

I see your work as doing some of this emotional labor to speak to the white people, specifically

like white middle class, working class, what have you folks about racism and about having

some sort of class consciousness and about not seeing themselves as so separate from immigrants

and people of color?

Do you conceive of yourself at all in that light as like you are doing some emotional

labor that let's say that 30-year-old black woman cannot do because she will be discriminated

against and or has too much work on her hands?

Well, when I said, you know, I can't leave this country until we get it right, that's

the number one thing that we have to get right, that the privilege that I've been able

to have being born white has really soured me on so many things and I've not appreciated

it.

I don't like the fact that I get to win simply because I have a certain pigmentation of

my skin.

But you use it, you use that privilege, I think, to speak to folks who might not otherwise

hear from someone like AOC.
