Hey everybody and welcome to the messy table where life is not always perfect but God is always at work.

And guys, this table is simply a common imperfect gathering space where we can all take a breather

for one hot second and remember what actually matters. In John chapter 7, some religious leaders

are trying to condemn Jesus for healing a man on the Sabbath. And Jesus is trying to show them that they're

actually missing the point. A guy was deathly sick and then healed, but they missed the miracle

because they were distracted by a technicality. In verse 24, Jesus goes on to say, look beneath the

surface so you can judge correctly. Another version says, stop judging by near appearances, but instead

judge correctly. What he's really saying is look closer, dig deeper, don't settle for the shallow

when the real stuff is underneath, because things aren't always what they seem on the surface,

are they? I know I don't want to be someone who misses it, but sometimes I do because I'm not

willing to take the time to dive in,

which is why y'all I am super excited about my guest today, who's not only one of my favorite

people in the world, but she's really passionate about this topic. Britain Bill is wife to Isaiah,

mom to one-year-old Blaine, a pastor at Life Church, and a trustworthy friend. More than anything,

she's the real deal and lives what she preaches.
