Summary

The first year with a new baby is not for the faint of heart, but it’s also one of the sweetest times with your children. Not only can you survive during this time, but you can also thrive in this first year. This episode is all about the four essentials that your need to focus on to avoid postpartum depression, anxiety, or any other mood disorder after giving birth.    They all say it takes a village to raise children, but the villages seem nonexistent. We are divided by technology, time, and space. So, what’s next? What kind of environment do you need to be in? How do you build your own village? Is it possible to enjoy the first year after birth even though everyone says it's not possible? I say yes and this episode is going to explain it all to you with four simple, tangible, and essential steps.     xoxo, Chelsi Jo .   .   .   .   .   .   Join Our Free Systemize Your Life Community   www.facebook.com/groups/systemizeyourlife Go From Organized To Overwhelmed So You Can Have More Time // Watch Now   www.chelsijo.co/workshop Get Your FREE Time Blocking Workbook Here   www.chelsijo.co/timeblockingworkbook Get Your FREE Fundamental Needs Workbook Here    www.chelsijo.co/myprioritiesworkbook   .   .   .   Get Your Home Management System Up and Running In 4 Weeks! I'm so incredibly passionate about what life does to women when they become moms that I couldn't

quite possibly not do a podcast on the four essential parts of what I did to survive my first year

0:16.6

of motherhood, not only the first time around, but also the second time around. I am unbelievably

passionate about postpartum. I spent so much time in my first pregnancy, really looking at what

life was going to be like after I gave birth, and I did the same thing my second time around.

0:40.1

I think there's such a disconnect between growing and birthing and then coming home and actually knowing what's to do with this

small human. I remember with my first baby thinking, I'm going to stay in the hospital as long

0:52.5

as I possibly can because I don't know how to bring a human

home and take care of it. And I even had a super supportive mom and super supportive friends. I had a

great community. But when you are left to your own devices in the middle of the night and during the day and you know

1:12.6

that your husband's going to go back to work and all of your visitors once they get that feel

good hug and first look at your little new human they're all going to leave you too and it's like

1:24.6

what in the world do I do?

1:34.7

And with your first baby, obviously you're going into a world where you've never been before.

1:36.9

Like you are entering into motherhood.

1:48.9

And then with your second baby, it's like, oh, well, now I have two humans to take care of. And how in the world do I manage two small humans?

1:56.4

I have to take care of another human while I take care of another human. I think it's not just one human you have to take care of. It's this brand new teeny tiny life and then another one.

2:02.4

And let's just say I stopped there. I was like, okay. And I've heard that, you know,

2:09.0

you can manage to because you have a hand for each of them. But then once you get to three,

2:14.0

you're outnumbered. And my husband and I have just decided that we don't want to be outnumbered. So we're stopping at two. Knock on wood. God willing, right? But truly,

motherhood changes us, you guys. There is a study that I have linked at the end of, in the show
