When he saw the post on Facebook about a batwalk at an old medieval castle, it seemed like a great idea. But now that he was there,

standing in the dark courtyard of a castle with an annoyed girlfriend, Evan was second-guessing his

decision. It'll be fun, he pleaded. You're always into out-of-the-ordinary things, he added. She wasn't

amused. It was a small group that had gathered for

the Batwalk, seven people, including Evan, his girlfriend Bridget, and the Tour Guide. The guide

was a gaunt man who was going on about the breed of bats they could expect to see flapping about.

If he hadn't been told, Evan never would have guessed that the greater horseshoe was a type of bat.

But that was precisely what the guide was guaranteeing they'd see, which, much to Bridget's chagrin, they did see plenty of them.

The tour took them all around the castle, and now that they were about to go inside, Evan could almost feel the centuries of history emanating

from the ancient stone walls as they approached.

The guide opened the large door to the castle, and immediately, everyone heard an ear-piercing

scream come from somewhere inside the castle.

Bridget shot a look of shock and panic at Evan.
