And I went to Barcelona and I did not.

I refused to do the, the noise for everything.

I didn't do it.

Wow, you just spoke American Spanish?

I didn't, yeah, I just spoke Spanish.

I didn't even speak the dialect.

I even speak Catalan.

I spoke Spanish the whole time.

Wow.

You know, I had a couple days to learn the Spanish I needed to learn to exist amongst the

culture of Spain. And

then I was like, I'm not learning a new one. I've learned enough. I got enough in my brain.

You know, here's something I've noticed about being in Spain. And I don't know, this probably isn't

true of everybody, but it was certainly true of me. I tried to speak Spanish to people.

And that only created more confusion because then when I spoke the Spanish to people, they would speak the Spanish back to me.

And I would be like, that was bad move on my part.

I don't understand a thing you just said to me.

We're going to have to switch to English now.

And now it's really awkward because you just assumed probably rightly that I could

understand the things you were saying.
