Tonight does caring about the environment mean not having any kids? I'm

Today we are going to be talking about environmentalism, sort of.

Now whether you're liberal or conservative and whether or not you believe that the world is going to end in 12 years due to climate change, I think most of us at this point don't like the idea of pollution, right?

At the very least, we're all trying to do things like reuse our bags, try not to drive as much, maybe, just little things we can do every day to lessen our impact on the environment.

That's all well and good, but some people on the other hand have taken things even further.

There are people out there that are actually refusing to have

children because they're worried about how that might contribute to climate change.

Here's a clip of that. Our planet is in a kind of collapse. The natural world is collapsing around us and that's actually happening right now.

And I'm so disappointed by the response by authorities to this crisis and so freaked out by it everything I've read,

that I've basically last year I came to the decision that I couldn't bring a child into that.

You have come to the same conclusion, Alice?

Yeah, I have. I mean, each day for me is a struggle I really do just I'm so depressed I feel so

hopeless and that has led to just a fear that I've never felt before and my decision for being on birth strike

mostly has come from not wanting to pass that fear on to someone else if we're

in this situation now you know even since my parents had me

we've destroyed 60% of of life on this planet what would that be like when my

child's my age will there be 10% left? That's not just to do with being you know a nature of

wildlife enthusiasts like I am that's actually that's dangerous as well.

And as extreme as those people may seem they're not the only ones who have put forward this idea that if we do care about the earth and climate change we just shouldn't breed.

In fact, Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, everybody's favorite Green New Deal proponent, has said similar things.
