woman on Texas's death row. My guest today is the director of maternal instinct, Jessica Dimock.

But before we get into that conversation, I want to walk you through what actually happened,

because the case is so strange, so unthinkable, that even people who watch the documentary

are still trying to make sense of it. So it begins in October of 2020 in New Boston, Texas. It is a small town near the

Arkansas border. It's the kind of place where people leave their doors unlocked. A 27-year-old

woman named Taylor Parker pulled her car over to the side of the highway and called 911 and told

the dispatcher that she had just given birth, alone on the side of the highway and called 911 and told the dispatcher that she had just given birth,

alone on the side of the road. When emergency responders arrived, there was a baby, and that baby was

alive. The Taylor Parker had not given birth. She had never even been pregnant. For 10 months,

she'd been telling everyone in her life, her boyfriend, his family,

her own family, and her co-workers that she was expecting. She wore a silicone belly under her clothes.

She showed people forged ultrasound photos. She threw a gender reveal party and she even set a due date.

Her boyfriend's name was Wade Griffin, a hog-trapher from East Texas.

He had no reason to doubt her.
