Well, there's a word you're not allowed to say in social media anymore.

It's a word that has become absolutely forbidden.

That word, of course, is groomer.

If you say the word groomer, this means that you are some sort of bigot.

Now, the word groomer does have a history, a semantically overloaded history, because there are two types of

grooming. There is grooming as in you are a sexual predator, and you are actively talking to

small children about sex because you want to have sex with the small children or with young

teenagers. And this sort of language was used as a slur for many gay,

lesbian, homosexual people over the course of history. The idea was that if you were gay or lesbian,

what you really were, you were attempting to groom kids. And that was used as a slur because

the notion that that gays and lesbians prey on children at a rate that is wildly different from

that in the straight population,

there's not a lot of evidence to support that particular viewpoint. Okay, fair enough. There's another

meaning to the word grooming. And that is how the word grooming actually is typically used.
