Summary

On this week's show we are catching-up with one of our favorite bloggers and vloggers, Emma, the creator behind Emma Cruises (fka Cruising Isn't Just for Old People).  Emma helps hundreds of thousands cruisers each year with cruise tips and reviews, and we were excited to have her on to hear more about her review of her very first experience with Disney Cruise Line aboard the Disney Magic for a UK staycation. Emma offers a very balanced perspective, and her views on who she would recommend should take a Disney cruise. If you'd like to connect with Emma and follow along with her cruise line tips, advice and experiences head over to her blog, or subscribe to her vlog and check-out her own video review of her DCL sailing. What was your favorite on-board activity? Oh, I didn't do much, Paul, from Eat.

Well, there you go. That's an activity.

Welcome back, everybody, this week's episode of the DCL Duo podcast.

And we are bringing back a guest that we are very excited to have on.

We had Emma on way back when I'm forgetting the episode number, but Emma is an award-winning cruise blogger and has a vlog that is used by tens of thousands, in some cases, hundreds

of thousands of people to research cruising, understand cruising, and get Emma's opinions

on cruising. And so we are excited to have Emma back on today because she took her very first

0:51.7

Disney Cruise. And so, Emma, welcome to the show. Hello, thanks for having

0:56.7

me back. Yeah, we're so excited to chat with you about one of these UK staycation cruises.

1:04.6

As we know, that's one of the ones you went on. Is that right? Yeah, so I thought, this is my

1:10.4

chance. It's not often that Disney comes to the UK, but I'm from the UK, one of the ones you went on. Is that right? Yeah. So I thought, this is my chance.

1:10.9

It's not often that Disney comes to the UK, but I'm from the UK. One of the ships came over here, and I thought, I'm going to take my opportunity, and I'm going to try it. And I did. Yeah. And you got to go on the original ship, the magic. I did. The Disney magic. It was a three-day cruise that went to nowhere.

1:28.9

But that wasn't really

1:29.7

the point for me. Yeah. Well, and to set this up for folks, too, I think when we last talked to you,

1:37.4

your vlog was called, cruising isn't just for old people. It's since been rebranded over to

1:42.8

Emma Cruises. Folks should head over and check

1:45.0

that out. We follow Emma's adventures all the time and so we're excited to see her taking a Disney

1:49.0

cruise. But Emma, do you want to remind folks, I think it's always staggering and good to understand

1:54.1

I've been cruising since I was 11. So it's spread over quite a long period of time, but I've definitely ramped up my cruising in the last couple of years with my channel and everything like that.

2:17.8

Well, you recently turned your channel into your kind of full-time job. So you've been cruising

2:21.7

a lot recently, correct? Yes, thank goodness. So I left my traditional job in March, just kind

2:28.1

of betting on when the cruise industry would restart. Obviously, 2020 wasn't brilliant for the cruise
