This week's episode will feature a standalone interview with Donnie Wahlberg, the man the

myth, the legend.

Actor, writer, producer, director, also host of a new show on CNN called Very Scary People,

which highlights diabolical characters throughout history.

The April 21st episode is going to focus on Jim Jones.

He was the cult leader that convinced his members to drink cyanide in northern Guyana in 1978.

When you're watching coverage of this terrible moment in history, you may have looked

over one of my hero's stories, that of Jackie Spear.

She is a congresswoman representing California's 14th congressional district, which includes

San Francisco and the peninsula.

She was 28 years old when she joined Congressman Leo Ryan's delegation to rescue defectors

from cult leader Jim Jones' People's Temple in Jonestown, Guyana.

The November 1978 fact-finding mission was organized to investigate allegations of human rights

abuses by Jim Jones and his followers.

Most all of whom were American citizens who had moved to Jonestown with Jones in 1977

and 1978.

As Jackie explained it, back in 1970, there were not many women in high ranking positions

in Congress.

I felt if I didn't go, it would be a step back for women holding these high positions,

so I thought I can't not go.
