Everybody, Tom Woods here. We're talking about UK politics today. A better late than never. I was

both out of town and had Gene Epstein week running when we got the election results and it was

extremely lopsided against labor. And I wanted to talk to somebody who's over there and has been

following the situation long enough to be able to offer us some helpful insights into the question.

And the person I've chosen for this is Toby Baxendale. And if you are over in the UK,

you almost certainly know him from his writing and from his entrepreneurial activities.

First of all, you personally, what has been your political affiliation if any over the years?

Well, I was inspired as a young adult or a teenager actually to get involved in the

Thatcherite politics. And that was really what it was called the New Right at the Time.

And it was a reaction against the 1970s socialism that was economic socialism, that is,

that was kind of fostered upon the United Kingdom so disastrously. And then maybe that
