Well, yesterday was supposed to be a big bombshell day for the Democrats. They have their

January 6th committee hearing. And before we get into the actual content of the hearing, I want to

discuss what exactly they are supposed to be doing here. So there are only a couple of reasons to

have a congressional hearing in the first place. One is to engage in some form of oversight.

You delegate certain powers to the executive branch.

You see what the executive branch did what it was supposed to do under those delegated powers.

And then you hold people accountable from the legislative branch when they don't do that thing.

Okay, that's not really what's happening here, because it's not as though this is an oversight

sort of function of the Congress.

This is more like a criminal investigation what we are seeing right here.

The other thing that they could do is they could be doing some sort of committee hearing

that is really tailored and geared toward generating solutions to, say, security problems.

So then you'd have more testimony from,

say, the police officers in the Capitol Security or from Secret Service about exactly how they should

have handled January 6th. They're not doing either of those things. The question becomes,

what exactly is it that they are doing? And the answer is really one of two things. One is that they
