Well, hey everybody and welcome to the debrief with your friends here at Sandel's Church.

I'm Stephanie Schaefer here with the PMB.

Yes, ma'am.

And we wanted to take a moment and stop our normal programming to talk about something that you've been really wanting to get into right now.

So you want to share what we're talking about today?

Well, we're going to talk about suicide today.

And obviously it's been on a lot of your hearts and your minds.

And, you know, I've not wanted to talk about it because I think too many.

There were too many voices at first.

And so I took a step back. And so last Thursday, I got a text from a good friend of mine, and he just said, I just don't know what's going on.

You know, he calls me pastor, but we're also friends.

We've been friends since high school, and his wife's husband, his wife's husband, his wife's father had committed suicide in their home.

And he just said,

he just, what is going on? And so I just thought, okay, Lord, I need to push past just my own,

my own fears and anxieties of talking about it, because the reality is today when you take a

biblical stand on anything, you're going to get clobbered. And so in the name of love, what we do is we push out

God's love to us, which is God's word. And so I just want to provide some biblical clarity in an age

of biblical ignorance. And so people are not coming at this from what does the Bible teach and say,

but we're we approach suicide with how do I feel? And so when we're a feeling-based society,

we really, really struggle with truth. And so when we're a feeling-based society, we really, really

struggle with truth. And so today, I hope to offer you grace and truth. I want to have grace,

especially for those of you who are battling depression, mental illness, anxiety, fear.
