Together, we take a deep dive into the writing, recording, and inspiration behind the fan-favoured

song, Megan, taken from their 1997 album, Destination Failure. Josh mentioned that Meganan was written in 1992, a full

five years before they recorded it, and he feels like it took all those years for him and

the band to flush it out and get it to feel just right.

I mentioned that the arrangement and instrumentation of the track are quite simple.

But Josh later referred to the production as sparse, which I think is the better descriptor,

as there was no need for an overblown production.

And the lyrics.

Wow.

Josh takes us on a bit of a roller coaster, referencing an old movie that serves as the catalyst for the lyrics,

and then going on to describe different scenarios to many of the lyrical references

as to what they actually mean or could mean.

Very cool.

Oh, and he holds tremendous high praise for producer Jerry Finn

for bringing it all together.
