The president of Iran, Ibrahim Raizi, is dead after his helicopter crashed over the weekend.

Since the Israel-Gazewar, is really a proxy war between Israel and Iran,

arm-chair analysts immediately began to suspect Israel of taking out the Iranian leader.

That theory seems a little weak to me, not because the Israelis would not want to kill him, I'm sure they would, just because I don't really see how they would have in this case.

Not to mention there was bad weather in Raise's flight path. It took the rescue crews a long time even to find the

helicopter. Helicopters are not exactly the safest mode of travel. If they can

get Kobe, they can get anybody. And the two other helicopters in Raiesi's convoy did eventually land safely.

So if it were a hit, it would have to be an extremely implausibly targeted hit

that the other two guys didn't see.

The next theory then is that it was some kind of internal enemy.

The Iranian regime is not all that popular.

After the news broke, some Iranians were so happy

they reportedly started setting off fireworks.

I don't know how the chopper went down,

but while everyone is speculating,

it is worth remembering that sometimes significant events in history just sort of happen
