0:00.0	Congressional Republicans have introduced a new bill that would require proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections.
0:06.5	The bill is called the Save Act. It is being championed by Mike Lee in the Senate and Chip Roy in the House.
0:11.9	The Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act.
0:15.8	All it does is make sure that foreign nationals can't vote in our elections and the Democrats hate it. The Democrats insist that the
0:26.1	legislation is unnecessary because federal law already prohibits non-citizens
0:31.3	from voting in federal elections. The problem is that
0:34.0	that current law, 18 U.S.C. section 611, has no enforcement mechanism. Not
0:41.2	only does it not have an enforcement mechanism, it's not allowed to be enforced.
0:46.0	Government officials who register voters are currently not allowed to require proof of citizenship.
0:51.0	Meanwhile, every single state in the country issues
0:53.9	driver's licenses to non-citizens and 19 of those states issue drivers licenses to
0:59.3	illegal aliens. There are 30 million non-citizens in America.
1:04.0	The 2016 election was decided by 80,000 votes.
1:08.0	Okay?
1:10.0	If a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of those non-citizens are voting in certain key municipalities and states and counties,
1:18.0	they throw the election.
1:20.0	Republicans are proposing a law that would do nothing more than allow the government
1:25.3	to enforce the current law. Democrats don't like it. If Dems won't vote for it,
1:31.3	there can only be one reason why.
1:34.4	They know that non-citizens can vote and they are counting on those illegal votes to win.
