What are we talking about today, Ty?

The very first Christopher McQuary, uh, directed movie back before he was the guy who

directs all of Tom Cruise's Mission Impossible movies and was a gazillionaire

writer-director for the Hollywood elite. There was a little indie film writer and director

named Chris McQuarrie. He wrote a little film called Usual Suspects, which became a

surprise giant hit that year and parlayed that into into demanding that they let him write and direct a movie.

And this is the movie that he wrote and directed

when he finally had enough power to demand that off of the success of the usual suspects.

And it is way of the gun, one of my favorite movies of that era.

And I think a much overlooked gem from that period i don't think it i don't think it did well at the theater so not a lot of

people had seen it it's interesting i didn't know way of the gun um was as true as of an independent

film as it was um yeah Miramax just distributed it,

but they made it on their own.

And Christopher McCory and Brian Singer went to high school together.

And Christopher McCory was like working at a theater.

He was a security guard.

And Brian Singer called and said,

look, they're going to let me make this film. Do you want to

write it? Now, this was not usual suspects. This was, I think it was called public access or I think
