Well, hey everybody and welcome to the debrief of your friends here at Sandals Church. Today, we have a really

special episode that we have put together all on the topic of our response to gun violence and really what

the church's role is in that. Can you kind of share some about, you know, why you wanted to have this

conversation, why we did this episode today? Yeah, so we, I think at Sandals, we're just a little hesitant to, you kind of weigh into political things because I think it's so volatile.

I mean, it's hard enough to win people to Jesus.

It's much more difficult when you weigh into political things.

But the reality is we've had many people at our church personally affected by multiple mass shootings.

We had the one in San Bernardino.

We had the Route 91 in Vegas where we had

literally tons of people from our church that were there and witnessed that. And so it just seems

to be cumping up more and more and more. And so we just wanted to have this conversation with

some couple law enforcement, some of our sole care people, and then one of our mass shooting

survivors from our own church. She actually

worked for us here at Sandals Church, and she's been my friend for a long time. And we just want to have

a non-volatile conversation about gun violence. And it's what I think the media should be doing,

rather than everybody jumping into their corners and accusing one another, just to talk about some

of the things that we can do as a church and what are some of the things that we can do to respond

and be a part of this process. So I hope that it's not offensive for you, but I hope it does

challenge your thinking a little bit to think about how you respond and before you send a message

a post or a blog or just a nasty

response that you'd take a step back and think okay is this helpful and I know you've been helpful

for me as I've responded sometimes at soundless shirts to miss Stephanie my angel who does not live
