Carl, I told you on the phone during some of our late night conversations.

When I was completely sober and you were completely drunk, you were without question.

The most naturally gifted and talented broadcaster I'd ever worked with.

Now, that's not saying you were the best, because I've worked with quite a few who are among the best.

But you weren't even pursuing that career.

Just like you weren't pursuing the career of a stand-up comedian.

But you could have done that as well.

In fact, and this is definitely a fact, you are funnier than pretty much any stand-up comedian I met off of a stage.

I mean, stand-up comedians are not that funny.

They're kind of fucking depressing like clowns without makeup.

I mean, when they get a set on and they get their show together and they're ready to do their act, sure they're funny.

Maybe when they turn their little switch on, when they're doing an interview, they got a couple of lines they can drop it.

But you were in the moment funny all the time.

Like, you were on all the time, bro.

And that's just one aspect of you.

I mean, we all know about the culinary aspect.

I respect you, highly, for that.

We all know about your friendship and your warmth aspect.

How you cared about your friends, people who loved you, people you loved.

And I know how you cared about Greg.

I know you wanted to put him through a wall a few times.
