Hey gang, it's me, Dr. Steve, and today we have with us a legend.

He needs no introduction for probably any of you, but for the 0.1% of our audience that may not know, he is one of the most important public intellectuals in our world today.

I was telling you before we recorded here, it's wonderful to finally sit down with you, talk with you, or pass across a bit.

It varies events, the American Freedom Tour, but we never got a chance to sit down and chat, so I'm very thankful for this.

Hey, I appreciate it, and looking forward to our conversation.

Let me start actually just by getting your take on the lay of the land with our own politics here, especially with the Republican Party.

So, where, as far as your concern right now, does the MAGA movement, the nationalist populist America first movement stand at the moment?

And I asked this because I've heard it put that the GOP in many respects is more a nationalist populist light party than it is a nationalist populist right party.

In that, it has a thoroughly MAGA-based grassroots, but its leadership is still rather mired in the old sort of neocon paradigm.

What do you see as the current state of the MAGA movement and the Republican Party as a whole?

Well, I think in the Republican Party there are three camps. There is the MAGA camp, the kind of explicitly nationalist,

somewhat skeptical of globalist cosmopolitanism. So, for example, in general, very skeptical of the amount of commitment to the war in Ukraine, for example.

That's probably the majority of the grassroots, but I would say it is probably a minority of the Republican Party officials.

And the second camp is the, call it the conventional Republican establishment. This is an establishment that was reformed under Reagan.

So, it's not as if it's not conservative. It is conservative. It would include people like Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, people who are conservative.
