Jack Moline is President of Interfaith Alliance.

In his long career, he's become a powerful voice fighting for religious freedom for all Americans,

regardless of their faith or belief system.

As a rabbi, he has worked to create common ground between people of

diverse religious and secular backgrounds. He's advocated for a number of issues

including services for the disabled, affordable housing, marriage equality, pay equity, and

civil rights.

Rabbi Moline has authored two books and offered commentary on a number of news programs.

Thank you so much for being with me today and I have so many

questions I want to ask you about but before I get to those can you just give us

a little more background about the work you do with Interfaith Alliance and what the organization is for the

Atheist who may not know? Sure. Thanks for asking that and thank you so much for

having me on the podcast. I'm a big fan. I've been a part of Interfaith Alliance for almost 20 years.

I was a volunteer for many years and spent some time as chair of the board. So I've seen us

evolve. From the very beginning we've been

advocates for the two religion clauses in the First Amendment. The

free exercise clause which enables people to follow their conscience as citizens of the United States

and the establishment clause which prevents the government from involving itself in a way that

establishes religion in general or a religion in particular as being

favored by the government.

And that has led us to all sorts of issues ranging from marriage equality to the Johnson Amendment which is a current debate.
