While the Federal Reserve finally did what everybody expected it to do, and they raised

the interest rates yesterday by a mere 0.25%. That is not going to do it in terms of curbing inflation.

But they're going to do it six more times by the end of the year, which would put the interest rates at about 1.5, 1.75% if they are on track. That is significantly higher than it is now. It is well below what it would need to be in order to curb inflation, considering that inflation rates right now are running so hot that they're probably in double digits year over year. According to the Wall Street Journal, Federal Reserve officials voted Wednesday to lift interest rates and penciled in six more increases by year's end, the most aggressive pace in more than 15 years in an escalating effort to slow inflation that is running at its highest levels in four decades. The Fed will raise its benchmark federal funds rate by a quarter percentage point to a range
