And I'm Bryce.

And today we are finishing Genesis 42 through 50.

Now this is the story of Joseph reconciling with his brethren and then bringing them down

into Egypt.

It starts off in chapter 42 where Jacob sends his sons to Egypt because they're starving

and there's corn in Egypt because of Joseph's foresight and the dreams that he interpreted

of Pharaoh.

So 42 is the story of them coming in, Joseph recognizes them, they don't recognize him.

He kind of is a little bit harsh with them, sends them back for Benjamin.

And so they head back to grab Benjamin and bring Benjamin down.

The 43rd chapter is where Judah essentially steps up.

There's this tension that Joseph is establishing.

They don't know that it's him and so he says, how do I know you guys are telling the truth?

And so he says, you know, bring your younger brother and let me hold him as like collateral

to see if you guys are legit.

And Judah steps up and says, you know what, I'm going to offer myself up his surety.
