This week we're excited to bring you the director of the Office of Trade and Manufacturing

Policy, Dr. Peter Navarro of the White House.

Dr. Navarro is a really fascinating figure.

He was really the intellectual godfather of being skeptical of Chinese entrance into the

global system.

He was one of the first to write a book linking the loss of American manufacturing jobs

to conscious policy choices, like permanent normal trade relations with China, Chinese

entrance into the WTO, and from there on, kind of two decades of American policy of free

trade ideal.

And what's also really great is you guys know we love to talk about China on this podcast,

but he very pointedly during the episode said that these principles of how our free trade

policy to look like, how our alliance system of work actually extends beyond just Asia.

It has to do with North America.

It has to do with towns and Kentucky and our allies in the Middle East, so it's a very

exciting conversation.
