Hello, friends, and welcome back to another episode of the Bikes for Death podcast.

As always, my name is Patrick, and I'm your host.

And on today's episode, I go for a bikepacking trip on my very own route.

This is the East Texas Lowdown Route, and it's a new route for 2023 in the East Texas Showdown series.

So now we're going to have three routes.

This is the lowdown, which is about 170 miles.

Then we have the slowdown, which is 280 miles, and the Showdown, which is 400 miles this year.

And the cool thing about the lowdown is that it is designed to be

non-competitive bikepacking ride. Of course, I guess you can go as fast as you want to, but we're not

taking times and nobody's going to care. This is designed for fun to get out on your bikes and get

in the woods with some friends.

And my friend Connor and I were the first people to ride this route.

And I decided to bring my microphone along and take you along for the journey.

You'll also hear my friend Natalie joined us on day one.

So you'll hear her chime in through the episode.

But she wasn't able to join

for the whole time. So that's what we got going on today. One note about this episode is that

I recorded it back in October of 2022. So some of the things that I comment on might be a little

bit out of date. But anyway, just keep that in mind as you're listening to it.

But the route hasn't changed.

My experience didn't change.

And wasn't sure if I was going to release it.
