talking about birds of prey and more broadly the current

state of female-led action movies. Now if you didn't know Birds of Prey and the

fantabulous emancipation of one Harley Quinn, which, yes, is the film's full title, is a spin-off of 2016's Suicide Squad.

And if you keep up with entertainment news, you'll know that Birds of Pray has been the center of some controversy in that

progressive activists and fans have once again kind of found themselves at

opposite ends of either loving or hating a new adaptation of an existing franchise.

and although I wouldn't necessarily call this a standard review of the movie because we have a lot more to talk about than just that.
