0:00.0	A thick plume of smoke was coming out of valley pond brokers in Whitwell, Tennessee, around
0:07.4	5 p.m. on May 17, 2016.
0:12.4	Volunteer firefighter Chief Todd Brown and his crew loaded up their fire engine and were
0:16.9	on the scene within three minutes of receiving the call.
0:21.0	We arrived. There was a gray and brown smoke coming out of these. Not a lot of smoke, but
0:30.9	it was noticeable.
0:32.8	Chief Brown felt heat coming from the building, but didn't see flames. The firefighters managed
0:38.6	to open the front doors which were locked and go inside.
0:42.6	The flame was contained just in the corner area behind the counter. Right around in the
0:48.9	safe area, what I would call the office area where the desk and all that was where it
0:52.9	was contained to.
0:54.5	Firefighters worked to extinguish the flames in the corner area of the building, but smoke
0:59.3	was filling the pond shop and so they had to get out. They went around the building to
1:03.9	try to get better ventilation.
1:05.5	At that time, we were able to get the back door open when we went ahead and took the
1:09.5	rest of the glass out of the front windows. Ventilated to smoke. When my guys went back
1:15.5	in, they found the body. They came out and got me. I went in verified that there was
1:22.7	a victim and at that point, I had everybody clear out.
1:27.2	Chief Brown immediately called law enforcement when he saw there was a deceased person inside
1:32.2	the pond shop. Tennessee State Fire Marshall Special Agent Daniel Foster arrived on scene
1:38.5	to investigate with his K-9 partner, Leo.
1:42.7	Leo had a change of behavior in several areas in the scene in several areas, particularly
