I have a memory of Mark Spence. This is probably

boy, 25 years ago. We were added Denys. So he was in his late 50s at that time. Yeah.

Added Denys in new port, I think. Rachel and I were newly married.

And you just reached under the table and you gave me a check and it was like for a couple

hundred dollars. You probably don't even remember it. And yeah, you don't. I've had people

say to me, hey, you getting, I'm like, huh, you don't remember. But the person who received

remembers. And Mark, giving's always been a big part of, oh boy, heartbeat of your life.

I've been discipled by Ray, you know, in this. I absolutely, I love, love, love to give.

I love to set aside money every month to give things and to people that aren't expecting it.

And I love to give anonymously. Yeah. So that the credit in the honor has to go back to God.

Randy Alcourtney said, God prospers me not to raise my standard of living, but to raise my standard

of giving. George Mueller said, God judges what we give by what we keep. And our giving is

but a reflex. Sam Storm said, they who are forgiven much, love much. And one of the greatest

ways to love is to give. You know, I remember at our other building, I was just sitting there

on my cubicle and I was saying to myself, boy, I really could use a chocolate shake right now.

Next thing I know, Ray disappears, goes and gets a chocolate shake and he puts it on my desk.

His ears were just attentive to people's needs. I could really use filet mignon right now.

And I think that that really is the life of the new believer. You know, God forbid we ever

offer anything to the Lord that which didn't cost us anything. That we would live in perpetuity

of just giving, giving until it hurts, given until we die. And that's what Christ did. That was his

example. He gave until he bled. I want that. I want to just give, give, give, give. And if I'm

going to air, I want to air on the side of giving too much.
