Now when it comes to scouting, especially if we're talking summer scouting, water is really one of the main things I focus on finding.

Even if I'm at home e-scouting, I pull up my onX maps and I'm really

starting to target looking for water. That's one of the first things I do when I'm planning a

hunt in a new area. I pull up my map and I pinpoint places to check for water when I first get into an area, especially if I'm going in there pre-season scouting.

Now maybe that's because I grew up hunting more arid desert type locations, but whether I have a tag in a

timbered alpine unit or that dry sage desert, I really like to focus in on water first.
