Hey everybody, it's Eric. This is the Hair Game podcast. This is a special monologue episode. It's just going to be me.

I'm going to be giving my thoughts and as much information as I could gather about the coronavirus.

I've wanted to do this all week. Haven't had time because I've been extremely busy dealing with

essentially what is a crisis situation in the industry. Of course, you know, I'm running this

Lawn Republic and we've got 20 locations, about 2,000 hairdressers and we needed to navigate

it very carefully this week. So I've been highly occupied doing that.

So I actually wrote this episode, partially wrote this episode earlier this week,

but I didn't finish it amid what I was doing, and when I got enough time for it, which is Friday.

It is now Friday, March 20th.

So many things had changed.

I basically just had to scratch what I had written before and rewrite it.

Because, you know, this week, as everybody listening, I'm sure, knows and has felt

has been just an utter calamity, frankly, in so many ways,

relative to how our normal days go.

So let's start with the basics about coronavirus.

The new strain of coronavirus is called severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2. That is SARS C.O.V.2.

The virus causes coronavirus disease 19, which they call COVID-19 CO from Corona VI virus, and the D comes from disease, coronavirus disease 19.

You may remember the SARS outbreak that spread rapidly in 2002, 2003.

This is a variation thereof.

Around 80% of people with COVID-19 recover naturally, on their own, without special treatment.

These people may experience no symptoms at all or mild flu-like symptoms. So that would be a persistent
