0:29.8	Today we'll be telling the story of St. Ephagenia of Ethiopia, whose feast is celebrated
0:34.0	on September 21st.
0:36.0	Ephagenia lived during the first century in Mesopotamia.
0:39.4	Not much is known about her early life, but according to tradition, she was the beautiful
0:43.7	daughter of Ethiopian king Egypt.
0:46.7	Ephagenia heard the preaching of St. Matthew the Apostle, and decided to consecrate her
0:50.9	life to God, and was given the veil by St. Matthew.
0:54.8	She became the leader of a community of over 200 other women who also consecrated themselves
0:59.6	to God, and helped to spread the message of Christianity throughout her country.
