Hello, folks, Tom Woods here. Before we get started on this debate episode, I have a word for the audio files out there in the audience. If you don't care

about any of this stuff, you can just fast forward through it. But as a podcaster, I feel compelled

to mention it. I've recently transitioned over to podcasting on my Mac, and I'm getting the hang

of it little by little. I've got to iron out some glitches here and there. But it's more or less

working. The problem is not so much

with the Mac as it is with Skype. With Skype, when you interview somebody, particularly when you

have multiple guests, you have a problem sometimes with cross-talk. When people talk over

each other, Skype has trouble coping with this, and it will sometimes drop out one of the people.

You may have heard this on my show,

and it makes it very difficult to understand what somebody's saying because the person's audio

is just being cut up and is just in tatters. So a way to cope with that is by using a service

called Zoom instead of Skype, because Zoom really does preserve the integrity of each

participant's audio file.

So when there is crosstalk, it just sounds like crosstalk like you'd hear on the radio or see on television.

The trouble is when I used it this time, this is my first time really using it, I guess I didn't understand how it worked as well as I thought it did, because instead of giving me a separate file for each participant, which is what I wanted, it gave me one big file, which is not what I wanted.

And secondly, I should have recorded myself locally on my computer instead of recording myself going through Zoom where it comes out sounding kind of, you know,

it's fine. You can understand what I'm saying, but it's not Tom Wood Show caliber. So I would

like to have three separate tracks and then take mine out and replace it with this nice fresh one.
