We are, we seem to be past the point of the protests in response to the death of George Floyd where things

were sort of, you know, kind of spiraling out of control day by day either with the progress of the

protests with protests either veering into or being taken advantage of by looters in different cities and then police

sort of going out of control either in individual actions on the ground level or you know what

was both captured and symbolized by that incident in Lafayette Park right outside the White House two and a half

weeks ago and we are seeing an unfolding range of of policy responses to these protests, to what the protests are a reaction to, and it's

important for me to say it's not that the protests have stopped. They continue on across the country, but they're clearly

they have clearly sort of modulated down over the last, I guess, week to 10 days.

And one of the things we're gonna talk about today

is that's

is about exactly three weeks since or no no no it's it's

about exactly three weeks since or no no no no it's it's more than three weeks

it's more than three weeks.

It's Memorial Day that George Floyd died,

which was like May 25th, I think.

I think that's right.

And it's interesting to remember that that was the same day that that incident happened in Central Park in New York.

With the with the with the bird or I always think clearly bird watchers rebranded at some point to

burger which I missed until until this came up in any case it's interesting

because my recollection at least was that the incident in Central Park,

even though it turned on some of the same issues obviously a much less grave thing that happened.
