Are we finally seeing the beginning of the end of this war?

We'll be discovering a number of developments that have been happening just over the last 72 hours that signal precisely that and end to this conflict and its dangerous escalation.

The Pentagon has confirmed that this past Friday, the American and Russian defense chiefs, spoke by phone for only the second time since the Kremlin launched their special military operation, Ukraine.

The call between Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and the Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu have now officially opened up lines of communication diplomacy between the two countries, the very kind of communication that was necessary to avoid the catastrophe of the Cuban missile crisis,

that last brought the world to the brink of nuclear war.

The readout supplied by Pentagon Press Secretary Pat Ryder confirmed that the two leaders spoke about the situation in Ukraine and that the Russian Defense Minister requested a follow-up call in the very near future, which is exactly what happened.

It's now being reported that there was a second call between the two defense chiefs a few days later.

According to the Russian readout, Shoigu expressed his concern that the situation in Ukraine was worsening, that it was, quote, trending towards further uncontrolled escalation.

Separately, Shoigu opened up once again the lines of communication with his British counterpart, Ben Wallace, as well as Defense Ministers of France and Turkey.

Shoigu reportedly expressed his concern to all Defense Ministers about intelligence Russian officials gathered regarding Ukraine preparing to detonate a dirty bomb inside Ukraine and to blame it on Russia.

Needless to say, all sides now are once again frequently communicating, so as to prevent any further escalation into the use of nuclear weaponry.

Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman General Mark Milley spoke to his Russian counterpart, Valerie Grasimov, chief of the Russian General Staff, in a rare conversation that focused on, quote, several security related issues of concern and that they both committed to keeping their lines of communication open to one another.

At the same time, this is all happening.

There are extraordinary signs that the Democrat support for the ongoing arming and funding of Ukraine has begun to crack.

30 House Democrats came out today and openly called for a ceasefire in Ukraine.

It's what's being called the first sign of Democratic pushback against the Biden administration.

Dozens of progressives are calling for a quote diplomatic push with Putin to reach a quote realistic ceasefire.

They're calling for an end to the escalation and demanding that Washington help bring about final secession to this conflict.
