0:04.8	The meme was a version of one of the oldest jokes in Democratic politics.
0:08.4	I remember the joke from when I was working on my first campaign ever.
0:13.4	A guy came up to one of my campaign colleagues.
0:16.1	He was on this congressional race and he asked,
0:18.6	when is election day?
0:20.4	To which my friend, not missing a beat, responded,

0:24.4	Are you a Democrat or a Republican?
0:27.0	If you're a Republican, go vote on Tuesday.
0:29.9	If you're a Democrat, wait until Wednesday or Thursday.

0:36.3	So in 2016, this guy Douglas Mackey, whose entire account was memes and jokes,
0:42.6	he posted a meme telling Democrats not to bother actually voting on Tuesday,
0:48.1	but instead to text their vote to some obviously fake number.

0:53.7	As a result of that joke, New York liberals have now convicted Mr. Mackey of
0:59.7	conspiracy against rights and he now faces 10 years in prison for a joke.
1:07.5	For the same joke, actually, that a liberal named Christina Wong made.
1:12.4	The exact same joke in the exact same election.
1:15.5	The only difference is that Christina Wong is a Democrat.
