Hey everybody, Tom and Bob here with another episode of Contra Krugman, and what a column we have

for you today. It's the January 8th, 2018 column, and it's called The Worst and the Dumbest.

Now, in case we have people in the audience who don't know the reference, that is actually

a reference to the famous book by David Halberstam, the best and the brightest,

which was meant ironically in a way, as if to say the best and the brightest, so-called

people are the ones who got us into the Vietnam quagmire.

Well, here we have the worst and the dumbest, and you'll never guess who the worst and the dumbest is. So the person he has in

mind, of course, is Donald Trump. You know what's ironic, Tom, now that you bring that up,

is that in a sense, I mean, even Krugman means it as an insult, but you could totally flip it

and say, yeah, despite their, you know, ignorance and their, you know, moral failings, the policies

coming out of the Trump administration are certainly better than what would have come out

of a Hillary Clinton administration. So how about that? Yeah, and I'm not sure that's what

Krugman had in mind, but you could certainly tease it out of the way he's framed this.

When I saw the headline, I actually thought he was responding to us finally at long last.
