I saw these two guys come past me on what they call it Peke Peke.

It's like one of their motorized boats.

And I thought it was fishermen in the beginning because I'd seen fishermen throughout the journey.

And I saw them, they came past me and then they disappeared behind a big bend of the river.

And I just, you know, I didn't expect anything.

I was never suspicious because I had seen guys like this throughout the adventure.

And about 10 minutes after seeing these guys, I just, eventually I just Karen paddling and I just felt something slam into my back and I thought it was a bird or something, but something hit my back and it knocked me off my kayak.

And because the force against my spine was so severe, it put me into a paralysis.

After about two months and 2,000 kilometers, his amazing adventure took a dark

turn. Davy is here with me today to describe the events that changed his life. Davy, welcome to the

Were you an adventurous kid?

How did you come up and end up being such an adventurous person?

To be honest, I was never adventurous.

I still really don't consider myself too adventurous either.
