Hi, friends. Thank you for joining the Adventure Sports podcast today.

I have coach Matthew Doherty with us, and he is the head coach for the Nordic and also distance canoe racing at a very special place.

He's at Paul Smith's College, and I don't know how many of you know what this place is.

They have a documentary out about Coach Matt and Outdoor Cats.

That's actually, I believe, the name of the documentary, and it explains so much about it.

It's a very special place.

It's all about endurance and adventure sports. And we're going to dive

into that. I watched the documentary already. And Matt coaches amazing college students who are

just killing it in Nordic competition, winning national titles, also competing internationally, and just an amazing

opportunity. So anyway, I'm not going to take up time talking about it. When we have the man

himself, Matt, welcome to the program. Thanks for having me. I'm excited to be here. Man, I'm glad to

have you. This is cool. I was just saying before I hit record here, I've interviewed a couple of people that kind

of headed up the outdoor sports sections at different universities.

And it's always been a fantastic conversation because these are people who not only do the

thing, but they're just so skilled at helping others discover the outdoor sports, the adventure sports, the endurance sports.

And, you know, when you've had a career doing that sort of thing, it kind of puts you in a special place to encourage people in the outdoors, which is what the Adventure Sports podcast is all about.
