Together we break down the writing, recording, and inspiration behind their 2022 single robot writes a love song

taken from their brand new album the unravelling of pop the band.

What a cool track.

I immediately told Stephen that I marvel at bands that can write such abstract yet cool tunes.

This song has so many moving parts and it is an interesting listen from note one until the last.

Stephen mentioned the song was constructed using parts from the original demo

and meshing them together with re-recorded tracks.

The demo parts were slightly out of tune in time, which gives it this almost haunting feel,

as well as adding to the realness factor.

Stephan also credits producer Peter Cadus with making the recording sessions fun,

something he stressed from the onset, and you can hear that

playfulness in the track. He was also about as humble as they come, explaining to me that he felt

the band peaked years ago when I told him that I feel like they continue to evolve and get

better with each record. I meant that too. This is one unique and killer band.
