quickly approaching the Senate conviction trial for president or ex-president Trump.

He was, of course, impeached in the House with all the Democrats voting in favor of impeachment,

10 Republicans voting in favor of impeachment.

There was a preliminary vote in the Senate to declare that a conviction of a person who is no longer

in office would be unconstitutional.

Only five Republicans voted in favor of that.

Those five were Senator Mitt Romney, Senator Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Ben Sasse, and Patumi,

were the five who voted against the idea that this was an unconstitutional trial.

What that really suggests is that there's not going to be tremendous support in favor of conviction
