Today on the Lionel Inquirer podcast, Kyle Toss joins me to break down Illinois basketball's newest edition, three-star Kankakee 2020-Winging Lincoln Williams.

Long-time target of the Illini was an early offer as a sophomore.

He's visited Illinois several times, more than a handful of times.

He's been at the State Farm Center for Illinois games,

but Illinois kind of cooled its interest because, as Lincoln shared yesterday, he kind of neglected his academics and didn't go to class and didn't take care of his academic work.

So all of a sudden, these options started disappearing for him, but he dug himself a hole and he climbed out of it. And kudos to him

for putting his head down. He had a good support system with his family, the people at Kankakee High

School, and he finds a way to qualify right at the buzzer here. And Illinois showed interest

throughout, and he adds a very interesting piece. Six foot five, six six, really athletic wing.

So on a roster is really kind of slower foot.

Lincoln Williams is a really interesting developmental piece.

We'll talk to Kyle about what he thinks of that.

And Kyle watched every minute of Team USA and the U-18 America Cup, and he came away thinking

Quentin Coleman was the number one player for the American team.

That wasn't a great American team.

They lost Canada in the final, first time in 18 years.

Illinois has lost the America Cup.
