Hello and welcome to another edition of Rick and Bubba University the podcast and of course if you're listening to it the week that we are sitting here recording it it is holy week and you know this is Bubba the I heard somebody talking about it this week a pastor and it is true that in our faith every Lord's day we are instructed to remember

what Christ did that's why Lord's Day was created in the church age it really is not just one week but it's still I think powerful and important and certainly wouldn't be against taking a week and setting aside to say let's remember what God has done and when you think about it it's really mind blowing

Rick it really is and you know what a great format we have here to be able to talk about it because we you know we share our faith on the show and I know you do the Bible study which is really good

but you know it's we do a little bit of a balancing act here on the show to be able to try to be Christians who do radio and we certainly fail at that many times but the intent to do good is there and to do the right thing and but it but it is a great week and you know the thing about I don't want to use the term just religion throw it around but they are various religions right

which we are Christians so we we're part of Christianity that you know most of the time a lot of these are where you have to serve a deity and you know if you don't do it right you get in trouble or you got to do this or that I think Christianity and one of the things I think is very unique about it what you were talking about is very powerful that we're celebrating what God did for us and he did what we couldn't do this week with Easter

and and that's uniquely different to Christianity that that that a king got down off his throne and paid the price that had to be paid for a sinful creation that had no way to get back and you know it's it is really mind blowing when you think about it

yeah I've heard it said this is what you have to I know you've heard the same statement but I've heard it said before all the other religions of the world are do

and and our faith is did done right and and and that you just said that we're not trying to earn something because by the way we're not going to pull that off no but but I think sometimes it blows people's mind that the thing you mean to tell me that God would come to us when we couldn't come to him and then he would pay the price that I owe and then he would make me fully righteous you know by by grace

through faith certainly we're leaving faith in ourselves and placing faith in him so I think sometimes people think to themselves that just doesn't seem very God like and they keep thinking but there must be something more and then that's when we get to just like man have always doing my say man I mean humans

mankind to add things we're called up on pronouns here no but you know what I mean but you know it's got to be it's got to be Jesus plus something right and our plus this and and then of course you know there's certainly

response to the how he transforms us you know but as far as being justified that's totally God doing that yeah and in the fact that you try to live what I'm going to use the

term a moral life yeah not out of rigorous obligation to do so but because of love because you want to do it because you know it's a better way and when all said

and done you actually will be happier and have a better life living that way you know and and I've talked about it before but I I became a Christian when I was 10

years old and at that I grew up in the family that went to church we were there time the door was open a moral family you know didn't have all that

problem I wasn't I wasn't really a bad kid or anything other than the normal things kids get into it right but about eight years old my dad was he had 10

brothers and sisters so we we went on a spare there we had a lot of funerals seemed like and you know when you go to a

funeral and you're a kid you start kind of realizing hey life is not forever even though for you it looks like it's forever you know because these

people are dying are old and I'm never going to get old right yeah but in my case I started asking the questions you know what's

happening what where are these people going what's what's taking place here and I started kind of seeking those answers and when you when you do
