Hi everyone, this is episode 117. Hey, Shana. Hey. How are you doing? How old is that little

growing toddler of yours? So she is 20 months and two weeks and she is growing, growing, growing. As you know,

you're guys getting so big. So big. I know.

Oh, my goodness. And her independence is just growing more and more as we approach two years old, which is awesome on one hand. I mentioned before she put on her own shorts that one day, and that just was

like the opening the Pandora's box. She's like, oh, I can do things by myself. She puts on her shorts,

her pants, her diapers. She, like, is drying herself off after her baths washing her body.

It's like, slow down, girl, slow down. You're 20 months old. You're my baby.

Stay my baby. But, oh, yeah. It's, it's cool, though, at the same time to see her have all of this

awesome drive and initiative. It's kind of like, I feel like she's setting up to be someone with

a growth mindset, you know, the dichotomy from Carol Dweck growth mindset versus fixed mindset.

Yeah, yeah.

I've definitely read and heard about it, sort of the idea of, I've heard about it in the context of sort of our generation getting screwed over by not having the growth mindset.

I so have the fixed mindset. Oh, my gosh. The fixed mindset. But I think during the 80s, it was like very big to like praise children for everything they did. And I certainly got praised for a lot of things that maybe I didn't need to get praised for all

the time. And yeah, I think it definitely took me until like college to realize like, oh,

you should actually like work hard. Like feeling the accomplishment of mastery of something,

like is actually its own benefit as opposed to just getting a gold star.
