Personally, I feel like our dogs were more of an adjustment from, like, you know,

no dogs to dogs were more an adjustment to my adventure plans than no kids to kids were.

Because the dogs, it was like, oh, total freedom.

You can go wherever you want.

Then dogs, it's all the sudden, oh, you got to think about feeding them, letting them out. You can't be gone all that long, and you can't just throw that responsibility on anyone.
