Tom, thank you so much for joining us today on underserved.

Thanks for having me Andrew, I'm excited to be here.

So way back when, when you were a kid, how were you first exposed to technology?

Yeah, I mean, I think from super early early on like seven, eight years old I was just

really curious about how things worked. Parents would get me a gift and I would kind of take it apart and

sometimes I'd be able to figure out how to put it back together. Sometimes my mom would be upset with me that I destroyed it and it was broken and

they wasted the money getting me the gift. I remember at one point taking a lamp in my bedroom

and cutting the electrical cord and then just rewiring the positive and negative again and plugging it back in.

My mom found that some electrical tape over top of it and threw it away and I was very upset but I think she's probably making the right decision at the time as well.

Lucky enough to have an early Apple computer in the house pre-internet as well and get to play around with it

probably before I was 10. But my dad took a really special

interest in my love for technology and my passion for it and really early on he was like I think we can just

learn how to build a computer together and I remember just thinking he was like I think we can just like learn how to build a computer together and I remember just

thinking he was absolutely out of his mind at the time that just felt like a thing that not only could

me and my father not figure out how to do but felt like nobody that you know didn't work at it I
